The Story Behind

Built From the Dirt Vol. 2

Released January 4, 2026

Some things are never handed to you. They have to be earned through hard roads, broken dreams, empty pockets, and the kind of pain that leaves permanent marks. Built From the Dirt is about turning everything that was supposed to bury you into the foundation you stand on. What tried to destroy you becomes part of what makes you impossible to break.

The Story

There is a kind of strength that only comes from starting with nothing. Dust on the roads, trouble waiting around the corner, and the early realization that nobody is coming to carry the weight. Life doesn't always ask whether you're ready. Sometimes it hits first and leaves the lesson behind.

Being counted out has its own kind of fire. Every voice saying it wouldn't amount to anything becomes another reason to keep digging. Every closed door, every failure, every moment of being underestimated adds another layer to the foundation. Eventually, the dirt that once represented where you came from becomes the very ground you're standing on.

The heart of the song lives in that transformation. Heartbreak becomes endurance. Burns become experience. Curses become fuel. Pain doesn't disappear—it gets sharpened into something useful. The wounds remain part of the story, but they no longer get to decide how the story ends.

There are nights when even hope seems too tired to hold on. Dreams get kicked around. Everything built feels temporary. But surviving enough hard days changes the way failure looks. Falling isn't unfamiliar anymore. Neither is getting back up. The fear loses some of its power when the worst has already been survived.

No pity is needed here. No lucky break. No helping hand required. The strength comes from knowing exactly what it took to get this far. Every scar carries evidence. Every mile has a price. Every time the ground gave way, something stronger came back in its place.

And that's what the dirt means. It isn't shame. It isn't where the story ends. It's the raw material everything else was built from.

Let the storm come. Let the world push hard. Let another failure try to drag everything back into the ground.

Some things grow stronger there.

This life was built from the dirt.

Lyrics

I was raised where the dust coats the county roads, Where trouble finds a man before he’s grown. I took hits that should’ve knocked me cold, But I learned young — you fight or you fold. They said I’d never be nothin’, just another lost kid, But I dug my boots in, did what they never did. When the world tried to drown me in their hurt, I climbed outta hell and wiped off the dirt. Ain’t askin’ for a hand, ain’t chasin’ no praise, I carry my battles like a flag every day. ’Cause I built my life from the dirt, From every heartbreak, every burn, every curse. Yeah I rose from the bottom with a heart made of hurt, Turned all that pain into power and worth. If the whole damn world stands against my word — Let ’em come, I’m still standin’, I’m still sure. I don’t fear fallin’, I’ve lived through worse… ’Cause I built my life — I built it from the dirt. I’ve been broke, been lost, been counted out, Watched every dream I had get kicked around. But a man who’s crawled through the fire and smoke Knows sometimes you gotta bleed just to stay afloat. So I sharpened my pain into somethin’ stronger, Held on to hope when hope wouldn’t hold me longer. Now when the dark tries to drag me back, I stand tall — I ain’t breakin’, that’s a fact. I ain’t lookin’ for pity, ain’t searchin’ for luck, I learned to rise every time life got tough. ’Cause I built my life from the dirt, From every heartbreak, every bruise, every hurt. Yeah I rose from the bottom with a fire that burned, Turned every loss into somethin’ I earned. If the whole damn world tries to kill my worth — Let ’em try, I ain’t runnin’, I won’t turn. I don’t fear fallin’, I’ve lived through worse… ’Cause I built my life — I built it from the dirt. And if tomorrow brings a storm I can’t outrun, I’ll tighten these boots, face it head-on. ’Cause a man who’s been down ain’t scared to get hurt, He knows every scar can turn into somethin’ that works. Yeah I built my life from the dirt, From every failure they swore would bury me first. Now I walk through the fire with a head that’s unturned, I took my demons and watched ’em get burned. If the whole damn world pushes me to the earth — I’ll rise again stronger than I was at birth. I ain’t afraid of losin’, I’ve lived through worse… ’Cause I built my life — I built it from the dirt.
